Yes. It’s essential to use a Hue Bridge if you want to use Hue smart outdoor lighting and controls. The Hue Bridge and Hue Bridge Pro offer an extended range using a Zigbee signal and each light acts as a repeater expanding the connectivity range when used with a Hue Bridge. A Hue Bridge Pro is a great option if you already have an extensive indoor setup and want to expand to your backyard, patio, front yard, driveway, and entrances. The Bridge Pro lets you add 150+ lights to your Hue system: ideal for adding lights to your outdoor spaces.

What are outdoor Low-volt lights?

The Low-volt collection of outdoor smart lighting is designed to make lighting outdoor spaces simple: you can connect multiple lights to a single power supply unit, plug it into any standard wall outlet, and immediately start lighting your space. There’s no need to permanently wire them into your home's mains electricity supply. Low-volt lighting uses a transformer to reduce that voltage to 24 V so it’s safer and easier to use. Many lights in the low-volt range come with the transformer included with the PSU (power supply unit.) These can be stand-alone lights or base lights that can have more lights connected to them in series using Low-volt extension cables.
